Greatest Island in the Med…

Sardinia, 'One' of the Greatest Islands in the Mediterranean

…Or ‘one of the greatest islands in the Med’, at least.

In my humble, the Island of Sardinia is ‘one’ of the greatest islands in the Mediterranean. Find out why in my article written for Telegraph Travel.

Giant tombs, Nuraghic fortresses, and plenty of opportunities for hiking, snorkelling, cycling or, my favourite, floating in clear turquoise sea. Add excellent food and wine, and the island of Sardinia makes sense, even if it wasn’t one of the healthiest places on earth.

Additionally, with over 1,000 kilometres of coastline, the island boasts beaches that are among the finest in the world. Most know about the Costa Smeralda, but there are 100s more. So, for an Insider Guide to Sardinia’s best beaches, read another of my features for the Telegraph. I’ll tell you where to find beaches surrounded by looming granite cliffs, the local macchia, even archaeological ruins. And of course all are lapped by impossibly limpid turquoise sea.
